Continued displacement of Gaza people, violence, and acts of genocide by the Israeli regime in the Palestinian strip risk erasing Palestinians entirely, a scenario that would legitimize colonialism and put the world in jeopardy, said the Kenian woman activist on the occasion of Quds Day.

Why it matters:

International Quds Day is an annual event dedicated to showing solidarity with Palestine, condemning Israeli atrocities, and resisting colonialism. The event serves as a platform to reaffirm global support for Palestinian self-determination.

What we're hearing:

Irene Asua, Organizer of the Kenya Palestine Solidarity Movement, says: "Being in solidarity with Palestine is also a fight for our own sovereignty as people and it is also a fight to guard our ecosystems and to guard our natural resources."

"We should also acknowledge other parts in the world experiencing Genocide, like Congo, Sudan, Haiti, and Sarahawi."

"Genocide is Not Justified Anywhere, regardless of the country."

"Colonialism is Contagious, Our Solidarity should be International."

" If we allow extinction of Palestine, their fate will be ours tomorrow."
