Tehran (IP) - The chairman of Iran's Parliament Economic Commission announced that the President of Russia would visit Iran next week.

Iran PressIran news: Mohammadreza Pourabrahimi, referring to his trip to Russia with Iran's governor of the Central Bank and the two-stage monetary and banking agreements, said: The president of Russia will visit Iran next week.

The chairman of the Economic Commission of Iran's Parliament added that planning for developing economic cooperation between Iran and Russia would be the priority of the consultations between the two countries' presidents.

Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin last met in Turkmenistan's capital Ashgabat on the sidelines of the heads of states' sixth summit of the Caspian Sea Littoral States in past June earlier this year.

Pourebrahimi stated that the seriousness of the Russians in economic cooperation with Iran is higher than in the past.

"Planning for the development of economic cooperation between Iran and Russia will be the priority of the consultations between the presidents of the two countries."

The chairman of the economic committee of the parliament stated that after the recent visit of the president to Russia, a positive atmosphere has been created regarding economic cooperation with Iran in Russia, and said:

"Very good agreements were signed during that trip, the president of the 13th government, a new chapter of economic relations between Iran and Russia and assured the Russians that the government of the Islamic Republic is serious about economic cooperation with Russia."

He continued: "The sanctions on Russians by America and Europe made Russia more and more in need of economic cooperation with Iran."
