Iran Press/ Iran news: In a meeting held to report on Khuzestan's status, Esmail Najjar stressed: "Iran has faced an average of 54% decrease in rainfall this year; the country has also been affected by the recent global changes."
He added, "In the past, we used to witness heavy rainfall in Iran, but today, even in snowy areas where 50-60 million cubic meters of snow were considered as natural dams, no precipitations have occurred."
Some provinces have a severe decrease in rainfall, such as Sistan-Baluchestan, Najar noted.
The head of the National Disaster Management Organization also highlighted: "This year, due to climate change, we have faced drought and lack of potable water along with agricultural problems. However, the decrease in rainfall in some provinces has been about 95-96%."
Several meetings were held to solve the country's potable and agricultural water problems.
A meeting to report on Khuzestan's status was held at Iran's National Disaster Management Organization on Saturday.
