Iran's President told his Venezuelan counterpart that the Islamic Republic insists on expanding cooperation with Venezuela in various areas.

Iran Press/America: Congratulating the reelection of Nicolas Maduro the President of Venezuela, the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told him in a telephone conversation on Monday evening that the Islamic Republic would condemn any foreign intervention in Venezuela's domestic affairs.

Pezeshkian stressed the expansion of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, including trade cooperation and the export of engineering services to Venezuela, while calling for the faster implementation of the agreements signed earlier between the two sides.

Nicolas Maduro, for his part, stressed the shore-up of the cooperation and called it in the interest of the Iranian and Venezuelan nations.

He referred to the unrest in Venezuela after his victory in the 2024 election and called the rebellion a conspiracy designed by the Israeli regime, the US, and their Western allies to destroy the independent countries and stressed: "We will resist against such collusions and no doubt we will overcome them.

Venezuela's Electoral Council announced that Nicolás Maduro's votes in the presidential election were 51.2%, and opposition candidate Edmundo González's vote was 44.2%, but González's supporters refused to accept the results and protested the election results.
