Pope Francis has called for the fighting between Israel and Hamas to end.

Iran PressEurope: The Leader of the Catholics in his prayers at the Vatican said: “May the weapons fall silent, they will never bring peace, and let the conflict not spread. Enough, enough brothers, enough!"

The Pope also said that the injured in Gaza should be helped and more humanitarian aid should be sent to the besieged enclave.

“Every human being, whether Christian, Jew, Muslim, or whatever religion, every human being is sacred, is precious in the eyes of God, and has the right to live in peace,” Pope said in his address.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance forces launched a surprise operation called Al-Aqsa Storm against Israeli positions, and the Israeli regime, to retaliate and compensate for its defeat and stop the resistance operations, has closed all the crossings of the Gaza strip and is bombarding this area.

In this regard, Rami Khouri, a distinguished public policy fellow at the American University of Beirut, said: “Israelis feel that by using their military power, and by being protected by the US, they can do anything they want to achieve their goal which is dominating the Palestinians. And so they focus on military control."

“This is a continuation of a failed policy,” Khouri said, adding that such an approach has caused the emergence of armed resistance such as Hamas. “Israel uses security control as the main instrument of interaction with Palestinians which can only guarantee future perpetual conflict,” he said. 219
