Iran Press/Iran news: Pezeshkian is set to begin a three-day diplomatic tour to Tajikistan and Russia aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and finalizing a long-term comprehensive cooperation agreement with Moscow.
President Pezeshkian’s itinerary includes high-level meetings and the signing of multiple agreements designed to enhance economic, cultural, and political collaboration between Iran and its counterparts.
In Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, the President will hold separate talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, and the Speaker of the Parliament Rustam Emomali. The discussions are expected to focus on deepening cultural and economic ties between the two Persian-speaking nations.
The President will then travel to Moscow, where a landmark agreement on long-term strategic cooperation with Russia is slated for signing. In addition to formal talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Pezeshkian will meet with leading Russian business figures and industrialists to discuss investment opportunities and trade partnerships.
The comprehensive cooperation agreement with Russia signals Tehran’s intent to build long-term alliances, especially in light of Western sanctions and geopolitical challenges. Similarly, the visit to Tajikistan highlights Iran’s focus on fostering relations with regional neighbors, leveraging cultural and historical connections to expand its influence.
