Pezeshkian Administration Spokeswoman Holds 1st Press Conf.:

Tehran (IP) - The Spokeswoman of the Iranian Administration held her first press conference while highlighting the significance of the president's participation in the UN General Assembly amid high tensions in the West Asian region, including the Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon.

Iran PressIran news: One of the interesting points with the spokeswoman's first appearance on Tuesday was the presence of a deaf interpreter along with her, something that was new in the routine.

Fatemeh Mohajerani told reporters that the president's trip to New York aimed at reflecting the Iranian nation's view about sustainable peace and their opposition to violence and warmongering.

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian left Tehran for New York, the US, on Sunday morning, to participate in the 79th meeting of the UN General Assembly and have other meetings on the sidelines of the annual event.

Mohajerani said President Pezeshkian's trip is important not only because it coincides with the beginning of his administration and the need to convey the clear message of Iran's people to the world, but also because of the current developments going on in the region.

The region has been under the fire of the Israeli war since October 7, 2023; the regime launched carnage in Palestine's Gaza such that over 41,400 people have been martyred and nearly 96,000 others injured.

Meanwhile, in recent days, the Israeli regime has carried out terrorist operations in Beirut along with bombing the southern part of Lebanon which has left 247 people martyred and 1,024 others injured just within two days.

For the president on this trip, foreign policy is an extension of the domestic policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran she told reporters.

President Pezeshkian has so far had meetings with different figures and groups including the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Elder Group, the US media, the Chief of the European Council Charles Michel, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Tajik Presidents Imomali Rahmon.
