Iran Press/ America: Iran launched more than a dozen ballistic missiles Tuesday evening at two military bases in Iraq that house American troops in retaliation for killing Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, the Pentagon said.
“It is clear that these missiles were launched from Iran," it added, claiming that it targeted at least two Iraqi military bases hosting US military and coalition personnel at Al-Asad and Irbil,” Jonathan Hoffman, a Pentagon spokesman, said in a statement.
Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has confirmed on Tuesday night that it has hit US Ain Al-Assad airbase in Iraq with tens of missiles.
The Pentagon said officials are still assessing the initial damage to the bases from the attack, which took place at about 5:30 p.m. EST. No information was provided on whether there are any casualties.
