Iran Press/ Iran News: Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Saturday sent a congratulatory note to President-elect Raisi and said the legislative branch stood fully ready to cooperate with his administration.
Ghalibaf said the Parliament announces its readiness for all-out cooperation with the elected administration, and hopes for the opening of a new chapter in revolutionary management toward solving of the people’s problems through congruence between the executive and legislative branches."
Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Foreign Minister who is in Turkey for participating in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum and meeting with other diplomats, in a message congratulated President-elect Ebrahim Raisi and said that Raisi is the country's newly elected president and everyone would have to work with him from now on.
Zarif said Raisi would lead Iran well.
According to preliminary results, with around 90% of the votes counted, Raeisi garnered over 17.8 million votes and won the presidential race by a landslide, followed by Mohsen Rezaei who secured 3.3 million.
On Saturday morning, the incumbent President Hassan Rouhani met with President-elect Ebrahim Raisi to congratulate him on his victory in the presidential election.
Earlier Hassan Rouhani congratulated Ebrahim Raisi on his victory in the election while attending his office on Saturday.
"I congratulate the people on their choice," said Hassan Rouhani on Saturday. "My official congratulations will come later, but we know who got enough votes in this election and who is elected today by the people."
