Iran Press/ Asia: Jalil Abbas Jilani said on Thursday on the sidelines of the international climate crisis conference at the think tank of regional studies in Islamabad: "Pakistan enjoys very close and fraternal relations with Iran."
He said that Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was invited for an official visit to Pakistan last week, and the two countries will use this opportunity to strengthen the framework of bilateral relations.
Jilani emphasized that Pakistan is looking forward to the results of the Iranian Foreign Minister's upcoming visit to Islamabad in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of fighting terrorism.
He added that the relations between Iran and Pakistan are very close in various areas, and the handling of issues between them is very close. He said that he is very pleased with his brother Amir-Abdollahian's upcoming visit to Islamabad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan issued a joint statement last Monday while announcing the return of the ambassadors of the two countries to their mission, and added that Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will meet his Pakistani counterpart on Monday, January 28 (Bahman 9) will have an official visit to Islamabad.
The Pakistani Express Tribune newspaper wrote today in a report quoting high-ranking diplomatic sources in Islamabad that the Iranian Foreign Minister's visit will help formulate the future strategy of the two countries in dealing with insecurities in the common borders and fighting the common challenge of terrorism.
According to the report, today, Pakistan's ambassador to Iran is leaving for Tehran, the place of his mission.
