Islamabad (IP) - Pakistan's political and military leaders have agreed to launch a new military operation against terrorist and separatist groups in the country's Balochistan province.

Iran Press/Asia: The High Political-Security Committee of Pakistan, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and attended by the army commander, cabinet ministers, and heads of intelligence agencies, convened to assess the country's security situation. The meeting focused on the escalating activities of separatists and terrorists in Balochistan province.

According to news sources, Pakistan's political, military, and security officials have approved the launch of a new military operation in Balochistan province. This decision was made during a meeting aimed at bolstering the anti-terrorism campaign.

As per an official statement, this new military operation is set to target groups including the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), and the Bras alliance, with the objective of suppressing separatists and restoring security to Balochistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting the Islamabad government's commitment to eliminating terrorism, announced that the operation would specifically target those responsible for attacks on civilians and foreign nationals, with a particular focus on Chinese nationals.

General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of the Pakistani Army, also declared that the military is determined to eliminate all national security threats. He expressed full support for government initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and stability.

This decision comes amid a rise in terrorist attacks in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces in recent years. Baloch separatist groups and the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) continue to pose the most significant threats to the country's security
