ISLAMABAD (IP) - The Spokeswoman of Pakistan Foreign Office, Mumtaz Zahara Baloch rejected news media that Pakistani Forces taking over the Wakhan Corridor or any other part of Afghanistan lands.

 

Iran Press/Asia: Mumtaz Zahara Baloch in the Pakistan Foreign Office weekly briefing said that Pakistan has ongoing defense and training programs with various countries and desires for friendly relations with neighboring countries.

"The Pakistani people and forces are ready to confront threats to their national integrity and security. Pakistan has repeatedly said that the port of Gwadar is not for foreign governments and forces but for the Pakistani people," She said.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said: "The news of the entry of the Pakistani army into Wakhan Corridor and Afghan lands is not true. Pakistan respects the integrity and sovereignty of Afghanistan.

The Spokesperson said that Pakistani security forces continue to conduct operations against terrorist groups and units in their border areas, Pakistan is not a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention, however, Pakistan has shown openness in hosting refugees.

"We respect the right of the government and people of Afghanistan and their right to mutual relations and development work with any country", she noted.

The Spokeswoman of Pakistan Foreign Office, Mumtaz Zahara Baloch on the situation in Syria said: "Pakistani government supports finding a solution to the situation in Syria. A permanent Syrian state should be found under the wishes of the Syrian people and we are not in direct contact with the new Syrian leadership."
