Iran Press/ Asia: Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, strongly condemned the terrorist attack by armed assailants on a police patrol in the Gowhar kuh region of Khash County, Iran, during a press briefing in Islamabad.
In response to a question from a representative of Iran's state news agency regarding the incident and the current security situation in the shared border areas, Baloch stated that Iran and Pakistan have close cooperation in combating terrorist groups.
Strengthening Relations, Cooperation
The spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the designation of liaison officers and security officials for exchanging security and military information as a crucial factor in strengthening relations and cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized that this approach demonstrates the determination and commitment of both sides to jointly combat terrorist groups in border areas.
The spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs further stated regarding the security developments in the country with Afghanistan: "We believe that the Kabul government must be committed to fighting terrorist groups operating within its territory."
No Talks with Terrorists
She also denied any negotiations between Islamabad and Pakistani security institutions with terrorist groups, including Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, also known as TTP. She said: "We do not engage in dialogue with those who are involved in the killing of innocent civilians and security forces."
The spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the recent Israeli action targeting the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Gaza. She stated: "The international community must ensure the swift delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and work towards a ceasefire in Gaza."
