Peshawar (IP) - Tensions on the Pakistan-Afghanistan borders escalated on Saturday after the Pakistani Army killed more than 15 Afghan assailants.

Iran Press/Asia: On midnight of Saturday, December 28, Terrorist assailants supported by the Taliban of Afghanistan attempted to infiltrate Pakistan from two locations in Kurram and North Waziristan from Taliban border posts.

Pakistan security forces foiled the infiltration attempt.

On the morning of December 28, the terrorist assailants attempted again to infiltrate Pakistan but suffered heavy counterattack.

After the second infiltration attempt, foreign terrorists and the Afghan Taliban forces jointly opened fire with heavy weapons on Pakistani posts.

Pakistan security forces responded to this unprovoked firing with full force and according to reliable sources, there are reports of heavy losses on the Afghan side.

According to sources, there's confirmation of more than fifteen terrorists and Afghan Taliban being killed and several injured in an effective counter-attack.

Pakistan army response led to the Afghan Taliban fleeing after abandoning six posts, while there are also reports of further losses on the Afghan side.

According to Pakistani military sources, there are no reports of any casualties on the Pakistani security forces, but three forces were injured.

Pakistan has repeatedly asked the interim Afghan government not to allow 'Fitna al-Khawarij' to use its territory against Pakistan.

Pakistan called Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistan Taliban as 'Fitna al-Khawarij' know it as a terrorist organization.

Pakistan's position is that instead of controlling Fitna al-Khawarij and suppressing these terrorist elements, the Afghan Taliban are continuously supporting Fitna al-Khawarij, and these terrorist elements are present in Afghanistan with complete freedom and are using Afghan territory unstintingly for anti-Pakistan terrorist activities.
