Rasht (IP) - The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran will add a new homemade destroyer to its Navy fleet on Monday.

Iran PressIran news: The ceremony to join the Deylaman Destroyer to the Iranian Army Navy to the army's north navy fleet and the Imam Reza 4th marine zone in northern Iran will be held on Monday with the presence of top military officials. 

Deylaman is the 5th destroyer of in Jamaran class of Iranian destroyers. 

It is the newest destroyer of the Iranian Navy and weighs 1,500 tons. 

Addressing the reporters on Friday, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, underscored the unique conditions of the Caspian Sea, stating, "The Caspian Sea is a sea of peace and friendship."

Deilaman destroyer will be added to Iran's Northern waters to achieve two objectives. The primary focus is the assurance of shipping safety, a necessity given the specific environmental challenges of the Caspian Sea.

Providing insights into the Deilaman destroyer's capabilities, Admiral Irani detailed, "The Deilaman destroyer is the latest model of the Jamaran class, but its equipment has been updated in accordance with the experiences of the 86th flotilla of the Navy, and it can play a role as a powerful vessel in the fields of detection, interception, and rescue." 219
