New Delhi (IP) - The mourning ceremony on the fifth night of Muharram was held with the attendance of Persian-speaking residents in the capital of India.

Iran Press/Asia: According to the Iran Press news agency from New Delhi, this ceremony was held after prayers and continued with reciting the Ashura pilgrimage, giving a speech and mourning for Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions at the House of Culture of the Islamic Republic.

Imam Hussain (AS), the third Imam of Shia Islam, was martyred along with his family and companions during the Battle of Karbala in the 61st year after the migration of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Mecca to Medina. The Ashura, the tenth day of Muharram, is a day of profound significance for Shia Muslims worldwide, as it commemorates this tragic event. 219
