North Korea said that talks with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo were regrettable.

North Korea slammed the United States for making "rapacious" demands during critical denuclearisation talks on Saturday, after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had earlier described them as "productive".

US Secretary of State told reporters before departing Pyongyang, that conversations with senior North Korean official Kim Yong Chol had been “productive.

The North's foreign ministry said the "extremely regrettable" US attitude during the meeting violated the spirit of the agreement reached between leader Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump last month at their historic summit in Singapore.

It lashed out at the US for its "unilateral and rapacious demands for denuclearisation".

The much-anticipated Trump-Kim Jung-Un summit has finally taken place in Singapore last month.

Donald Trump decided to walk away from a multi-lateral nuclear agreement signed by his predecessor, Barack Obama, thereby dishonoring and reneging on America's international commitments and obligations.
