Thousands of Muslims in New York celebrated the month of Ramadan by holding prayers in Times Square on Sunday evening.

Iran Press/America: Thousands of Muslims in New York welcomed the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan on Sunday evening.

Observant Muslims refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk during Ramadan and gather with family and friends to break the fast in the evening.

Gathering in the symbolic Times Square, they offered their first Tarawih, the special evening Ramadan prayer, which will continue throughout the holy month.

American Muslims demanded the cessation of US support to the Zionist regime.

Afterward, they prayed for Gaza, which has been under Israeli attacks for over five months.

As the holy month of Ramadan begins, and following the continuation of the Zionist regime's crimes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, Tel Aviv officials are worried about the igniting of another intifada and the escalation of conflicts in the West Bank.

It should be noted that the security agencies of the Zionist regime are on maximum alert and the armed forces of this regime have deployed their forces in all areas of the occupied West Bank.

Nearly 31,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have since been killed in Gaza, and over 72,500 others injured amid mass destruction and shortages of necessities.
