Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the assassination of Hamas deputy leader in Lebanon.

Iran PressIran news: Hamas’s deputy leader abroad Saleh al-Arouri, along with two other commanders of Qasam brigades, was killed on Tuesday night in an Israeli strike in Dahiya, southern Lebanon.

Iran's MFA spokesman Nasser Kanaani condemned the attack and described it as the result of the Israeli regime's failure after about three months to compensate the irreparable defeat it suffered from Hamas.

Kanaani both condoled and congratulated the martyrdom of the resistance commanders to the Palestinian nation and Hamas movement and said their martyrdom would further strengthen the will of the not only the Palestinian people but also the world's freedom seekers to fight the Israeli occupation.

He also considered the Israeli attack the violation of Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty and called on the UN Security Council to take immediate measure against such terrorist actions by the Israeli regime.

It was on October 7 that the Palestinian Resistance carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on the Israeli regime's forces in response to the regime's daily crimes against the Palestinian people during 75 years of occupation of Palestine since 1948.

Confused with the irreparable intelligence and military blow it suffered from the October 7 operation, Israel is struggling to compensate for the defeat.

The number of people martyred during the Israeli regime's attacks on the city exceeded 22,000; over 57,000 Palestinian people also have been injured.
