Iranian capital, Tehran is set to hold a massive funeral procession on Monday to mourn Lt. General Qasem Soleimani and his Iranian and Iraqi companions who were assassinated by the US in Iraq last Friday.

Iran Press/Iran news: Wrapped in flags, bodies of the martyred commander of Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and his companions arrived in Tehran airport early Monday from the holy city of Mashad where they were honored in unprecedented mourning procession.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei who will offer the prayers over the bodies and pay tribute to their services has promised severe revenge over the killing of General Soleimani.

The US heinous act of assassinating the Iranian counter-terrorism commander in Iraq has faced global condemnation from independent countries and raised serious disputes in US domestic political circles.

Iran on Sunday announced its fifth step to scale back from the 2015 nuclear deal saying it will be no longer limited in uranium enrichment for its peaceful nuclear program.

The retaliatory move came after the US unilaterally withdrew from the deal reached between Iran and global powers and re-imposed sanctions on Tehran.

Iran has slammed the US sanctions as economic terrorism against ordinary people saying they have resulted in restrictions in the import of medical and foodstuff.
