Iran Press/ Iran news: Having got the Fakhra vaccine jab on Tuesday, Martyr Mohsen Fakhrizadeh's son referred to the role of his father in producing the vaccine, saying: "Considering that he was the head of the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research, and responsible for defense area, he was thinking of producing the vaccine from the very beginning of coronavirus outbreak in the world, and fortunately his efforts came to the conclusion today."
The clinical trial of the fourth Iranian COVID-19 vaccine, dubbed as FAKHRAVAC (MIVAC) 19, kicked off with the vaccine injected to the first volunteer, with the attendance of Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami and Health Minister Saeed Namaki.
The volunteer was the son of Martyr Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the head of the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research, which developed the vaccine.
Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the Head of the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research, was assassinated in a multi-pronged terrorist attack by several assailants in the Absard city, Tehran Province Damavand County on November 27, 2020.
Being a volunteer for the first phase of the clinical trial of the fourth Iranian COVID-19 vaccine, he said it was a God's blessing to him to be able to serve humankind.
"It is God's blessing for a human being to be in a position where he can do a small service to tackle the problem that has plagued the world," Fakhrizadeh's son told Iran Press.
"The whole family volunteered for the initial vaccine test months ago and even before my father was martyred," he added.
"My father's presence is missed. We would like him to see this day in physical presence, although his presence is felt here, and fortunately, his work has come into result, and hopefully, this would help solve the problem that people are coping with, and that was my father's concern," he concluded.
