Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking on Tuesday at the ceremony of awarding the Shefa medal (shefa means healing) and honouring the staff active in the field of coronavirus prevention at the General Staff of the Armed Forces in Tehran, Major General Mohammad Bagheri added: "The outbreak of disease could have caused confusion and disaster among the Iranian people, like in many developed countries, but the experienced nation of Iran was able to emerge proudly from this crisis."
Major General Bagheri added that the Iranian Armed Forces, in carrying out the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, while being responsible for defending Iran, assisted the health sector and were able to reduce some of the pressure on hospitals.
He stated that during the cooperation of the Armed Forces with the Iranian health sector, the Armed Forces had controlled all borders and security affairs of Iran without a single day break and this activity continues.
The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran stated that despite the harsh sanctions against Iran, the COVID-19 patients have never faced with lack of beddings and hospital equipment, and the "Milad Noor" vaccine of the Ministry of Defense of Iran in the near future will be reached to the people of Iran.
Major General Bagheri added that the Martyr Soleimani project, with the contribution of Basij and hundreds of thousands of Basij in Iran, has been successful in controlling COVID-19 disease and this plan continues round the clock.
The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran said that the health department of Iran is grateful for the assistance of the Armed Forces, and the efforts of the medical staff of the Armed Forces has led to the satisfaction of the Commander–in–Chief of the Armed Forces and the award of Shefa Medal has been granted by him.
Major General Mohammad Bagheri also added that the Iranian people voted with insight by participating in the presidential election and we hope that the future government would solve the people's problems better than ever before with the cooperation of the people.
During the ceremony, a Shefa medal was also handed to those working in the field of health and the fight against COVID-19 in the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
