The Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, stated that the Islamic Republic's response to the Israeli assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran would be "calculated."

Iran PressIran news: Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed when their residence was targeted in Tehran on July 31.

In a statement, the IRGC asserted that the assassination of Haniyeh was "designed and implemented by the Zionist regime and supported by the criminal government of America."
In response to this act of terror, high-ranking Iranian officials vowed to deliver an appropriate response to the Israeli regime. The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, stated that by assassinating Ismail Haniyeh, the Israeli regime had set the stage for severe repercussions against itself.

In remarks made on Wednesday, General Bagheri reiterated Iran’s intention to deliver a "calculated" response to the assassination of the late Hamas leader, which occurred in Tehran in late July.

He emphasized that the Israeli regime is currently in a precarious situation and is prepared to commit further acts of aggression following the October 7 attacks by the Hamas Resistance movement, as it perceives itself to be on the verge of collapse.

“Today, we witness a crisis in the region following the Al-Aqsa storm. The Zionist regime is worried about its existence and is in a dangerous condition, so it won’t hesitate to commit any criminal act to prolong its shameful existence,” he said.

Regarding the role of the United States in the region, General Bagheri noted that U.S. power is not comparable to what it was five years ago, as the regime is in decline and struggling to restore its influence.

The general also highlighted the critical responsibility of Iran’s armed forces to enhance military preparedness, urging them not to waste any time in improving rapid response capabilities, strengthening infrastructure, and increasing the quality of military products.
