Following the conclusion of the Iranian Olympians' participation in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his gratitude to the athletes, federation leaders, and coaches in a heartfelt message.

In his statement, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution acknowledged the dedication and determination of the athletes, as well as the contributions of the federation presidents, coaches, and the National Olympic Committee. He thanked them for bringing joy and pride to the nation through their impressive sporting achievements.

Iranian Olympians secured a total of 12 medals—comprising 3 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze—across freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and taekwondo, finishing 21st out of over 200 participating nations.

The Iranian taekwondo team made history by winning medals in every weight category.

Despite facing challenges that impacted their medal count, the overall results were a significant achievement for Iranian sports.

In total, Iran sent 41 athletes to compete in various sports at the Paris Olympics. While taekwondo and wrestling were the standout disciplines, other sports like fencing and sport climbing also garnered public interest, coming close to securing medals.

A notable highlight was Iranian gymnast Mehdi Olfati, who became the first Iranian to reach the gymnastics finals, marking a significant milestone in the country’s Olympic history.
