Iran Press/Europe: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has invited Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to Russia.
Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced in a press conference about Lavrov's decision to invite his Iranian counterpart.
Zakharova said: Intensive political contacts and verification of approaches on topics of interest to both Iran and Russia continue at different levels. The direction of further development of beneficial bilateral cooperation in all priority areas was especially confirmed in the congratulatory message of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to his recently appointed Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.
In his congratulatory message to Araghchi, Lavrov expressed his satisfaction with the "unprecedented dynamism and level of real strategic partnership in Russia-Iran relations" and said: "Regarding the continuation of constructive interactions and the subsequent expansion of coordination in the field of foreign policy between the two countries, which in we express our hope that it is in line with the interests of the two friendly nations and the strengthening of international peace and security cooperation." 204
