In a statement released on Thursday, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Kremlin, emphasized that the comprehensive agreement between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfills the aspirations of both nations.

Iran Press/Europe: During an exclusive interview with IRNA in Moscow, Peskov highlighted that the agreement does not aim to counter other countries’ interests but rather reflects a mutual commitment to collaboration. He reiterated President Vladimir Putin’s assertion that Russia does not align against any country, emphasizing a stance of peace and cooperation.

This agreement elevates bilateral relations to a strategic partnership level, encompassing military, political, trade, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, and humanitarian aspects.

Regarding the timing of the agreement, Peskov dismissed speculation linking it to the U.S. presidential transition. He clarified that the agreement's timing was the result of two years of meticulous work and cannot be attributed to future political events, such as the upcoming inauguration of the U.S. president.

Peskov further explained that post-agreement, both nations would engage in operational negotiations based on legal frameworks that align with this new strategic partnership.

The agreement has sparked renewed discussions about future steps between Russia and Iran. A new round of collaboration in trade, investment, logistics, humanitarian fields, and regional and global issues is expected to be discussed during the upcoming visit of Iranian President to Russia, which will feature high-level talks between Putin and Iranian President.

According to the Iranian ambassador to Russia, Kazzem Jalali, this agreement includes 47 articles that cover all aspects of bilateral relations, focusing on maintaining balance and mutual respect for sovereignty.

The visit of Iranian President to Moscow, starting today, aims to strengthen these ties further and lay the groundwork for a long-term partnership between the two nations.

This development signifies a significant step in fostering a stable and enduring relationship between Russia and Iran, with potential implications for regional stability and economic cooperation.
