Tehran (IP) - The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Swedish government is expected to respond to the most obvious demand of Muslims responsibly while strictly adhering to the fundamental principles of human rights and trying to promote ethics and peaceful coexistence of religions through practical and effective measures.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran Press, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, said regarding the renewed desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden: "Unfortunately, we continually witness the repetition of the audacity to Islamic sanctities in an action that is contrary to the basic principles of human rights."

Iran's Top diplomat continued: "These acts of spreading hatred, insulting and attacking the rights and values of more than two billion Muslims have been carried out in front of the passive presence of the Swedish police, whose main responsibility is to maintain security and prevent the violation of the rights of others. The atmosphere of freedom and truth will never be erased from people's minds."

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out: "From the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Swedish authorities' claims without action in condemning and opposing the attack on the Holy Quran are not enough."

Kanaani added: "Based on this, the Swedish government is expected to seriously adhere to the fundamental principles of human rights and try to promote ethics and the peaceful coexistence of religions through practical and effective measures, and respond responsibly to the most obvious demand of Muslims and monotheists in the world."
