Accra (IP) - The former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has secured a resounding victory in the intensely contested 2024 presidential election, marking a dramatic return to power.

Iran Press/Africa: The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) declared John Dramani Mahama the winner of the 2024 presidential election, securing 56.55% of the valid votes cast, totaling 6,328,397. His primary opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP, trailed with 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61%.

Mahama's victory propelled his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to a parliamentary majority, further solidifying his mandate.
