Islamabad (IP) - Jamaat-e-Islami's Chief Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman welcomed the new Palestinian Ambassador to Islamabad Zaheer Zaid on his posting to Pakistan on Wednesday.

On the occasion, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman stressed the Pakistani nation's support of the Palestinian people in their struggle for the liberation of Palestine, noting that the Pakistani policy regarding Palestine is the same as that of the late founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He highlighted Al-Quds the issue important for any Muslim people and said that the entire Pakistani nation is united on the issue of Palestine and that every member of Jamaat-e-Islami is a soldier to help Palestine in the struggle.

The Palestinian Ambassador, for his part, said that his nation was thankful and paid tribute to the efforts of Pakistan and the Jamaat-e-Islami society and that the Palestinians consider Pakistan as their second home.

Zaheer Zaid said: " Zionist ideas are threatening the peace of the entire region, we are thankful to all the Islamic countries and their governments for their support of Palestine cause".

He noted that the world especially the Islamic countries should make more effort to support their Palestine brothers and the establishment of an immediate ceasefire in the war on Gaza.

The Israeli regime launched an all-out war on Gaza on October 7, 2023; the genocide the regime has launched has shocked the world such that it has made an anti-Israeli wave throughout the world, from the US to Europe and from Asia to Africa.

The Israeli regime has so far killed more than 43,500 people in Gaza, most of them women and children.
