Iran Press/Iran news: The Islamic Center of Hamburg (IZH) is one of Germany's important and old Islamic centers, that was closed by the German state in January 2024.
Speaking at a meeting in Tehran, Mohammad Hadi Mofatteh told reporters on Monday: "There were principles governing the operation of this group, and the most important of them was adherence to the law, and we did not violate any law in Germany."
Hojjatoleslam Mofatteh stressed that anti-Semitism does not exist at all in the Islamic religion and that the Hamburg Islamic Center always emphasized that Muslims are not anti-Semitic.
"We fully hope that the German court will judge correctly; they voted in our favor in the first court and we hope that they will review the case with legal standards."
Germany closed the Islamic Center of Hamburg (IZH) on the allegations that it had breached international treaties, human rights, and freedom of religion, expression, and assembly.
Last week, Berlin said it had approved €45 million worth of arms exports to Israel for the war on Gaza and Lebanon for the entire year up to 13 October — a significantly lower sum than before, all amid rumors that the government had stopped approving arms export permits altogether.
