Gambia (IP) - The Israeli regime is not a legitimate government and an occupying apartheid regime never becomes legitimate over time, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian addressed participants in the 15th edition of the OIC meeting.

Iran PressAfrica: Sustainable and fair peace is realized in the region only through the termination of the occupation of Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, the return of the Palestinian refugees to their homeland, and the right of the Palestinians to determine their fate, Iranian FM stressed in his speech at OIC meeting.

He added: The pro-Palestinian campaign in the world is going to be stronger every day after 7 months of the Israeli regime's war on Gaza and has spilled over the US universities and the student movement across the US, where the so-called Western human rights advocates suppress the voice of the awakening conscience of the American university students.

"The world's public, especially the Islamic world's, strongly expects the Islamic governments to take significant actions at the end of such meetings, including the immediate establishment of constant and full ceasefire across Gaza, total lifting of the humanitarian blockade on Gaza, the exchange of the prisoners, obliging the apartheid Israeli regime to immediate and the total exit from all parts of Gaza and ensuring the safe return of the Gazans to their homes, Amir-Abdollahian said

The Islamic countries boycotting the Israeli regime both economically and militarily, enforcement of the temporary verdict of the ICJ to punish all of the elements engaged in the Israeli crimes, is the minimum measures the Islamic World can do to support Gazan.

Destruction of Palestinian resistance just illusion: FM

Iran's Foreign Minister said that the destruction of the Palestinian resistance and Hamas as an emancipatory movement against the Israeli occupation was nothing more than an illusion.

He pointed to the complicated situation the Islamic world is facing, in such a way that the Islamic countries are coping with a scope of challenges including economic instability, political turmoil, and foreign interventions.

Yet the challenges can create opportunities for advancements and innovations in the Islamic world and the flourishing of the Islamic civilization, Amir-Abdollahin said, adding that the rich cultural legacy, diversified natural sources, and young population of the Islamic world's countries can prepare the grounds for advancements based on Islamic values.

Sustainable and fair peace is realized in the region only through the termination of the occupation of Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, the return of the Palestinian refugees to their homeland, and the right of the Palestinians to determine their fate, Amir-Abdollhain stressed.
