Israeli forces raided the office of Qatar-owned Al Jazeera television in Jerusalem and confiscated its equipment on Sunday, shortly after a government decision to shut down the broadcaster.

Iran Press/ West Asia: The Doha-based television denounced the Israeli government's decision to close its offices as a “criminal act.”

The Israeli regime's authorities raided a hotel room used by Al Jazeera as its office after the government decided to shut down the Qatari-owned TV station's local operations on Sunday, an Israeli official and an Al Jazeera source told Reuters.

Video circulated online showed plainclothes officers dismantling camera equipment in a hotel room, which the Al Jazeera source said was in the Eastern part of Quds.

Aljazeera's office closed due to its coverage of the Gaza war and depicting the brutality of the Israeli forces in committing crimes against innocent Palestinians.

At least 34,735 people have been killed and 78,108 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
