Iran Press/ West Asia: The Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip has entered its 61st consecutive day. Today, the occupation forces intensified their raids, shelling, and brutal attacks on innocent Palestinian civilians.

Amidst this unimaginable tragedy, the Palestinian resistance continues to show heroic resilience and fight back against the occupation forces.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, the occupation’s aircraft, artillery, and boats have carried out countless raids and bombardments across the Gaza Strip, resulting in hundreds of martyrs and wounded individuals. The southern regions, particularly Khan Younis, have been heavily targeted by the violent bombings and ground incursions, unleashing chaos and devastation in the area.

In the Khan Younis governorate and neighboring area, aid distribution completely stopped due to the Israeli non-stop bombardment.

In the second largest city of Gaza, streams of ambulances and cars trying to reach hospitals with wounded and dead people, including children, show a bloody new phase of the war.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced that its forces were in the heart of Khan Younis and called the city the first target in the expanded ground offensive into southern Gaza.

More than 16,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the conflict – 70 percent of those killed are women and children according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.

According to U.N. figures from before the seven-day ceasefire, 80 percent of Gaza’s 2.3 million citizens have been displaced.

Israeli troops fought fierce battles with Hamas in southern Gaza on Wednesday after reaching the heart of the city of Khan Younis, forcing Palestinian civilians to seek refuge elsewhere as the number of safe areas decreased.

The Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades announced yesterday that its fighters have targeted 25 Israeli military vehicles in various areas in the city of Khan Younis in the besieged Gaza Strip, the Safa news agency reported.
