Early Monday morning, reports surfaced that the death toll from an Israeli airstrike on central Syria has risen to five, with 19 others injured.

Iran Press/West Asia:  Earlier, Faisal Haidar, the director of Masyaf Hospital in the western outskirts of Hama province, had reported that four civilians were killed, and 14 others were injured in the attack, with several in critical condition.

In a related statement, a Syrian military official told SANA that around 11:20 PM on Sunday night, Israeli forces launched an attack from northwest Lebanon, targeting military sites in central Syria. The official added that Syrian air defense systems responded to the hostile targets. As a result, three individuals were killed, and 15 others were wounded.

Meanwhile, Al-Mayadeen TV reported that the Israeli airstrike targeted a scientific research center and defense testing facilities in the outskirts of Masyaf.In recent years, Israel has conducted multiple airstrikes on Damascus and other regions across Syria, often met with swift responses from Syria’s air defense systems, which have intercepted many of the attacks.
