Iran Press/ America: The International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) ministerial conference on "Nuclear Power in the 21st Century" kicked off in Washington and will last until October 28, with Russian representatives absent due to US government violation in the issue of visas for Russian representatives.
"Last year, Israel, with 5.2 percent of its GDP, spent $24.3 billion on military and is among the top five military spenders in the Middle East," Heidar-Ali Balouji said Monday.
"In addition to its Weapons of Mass Destruction, the large arsenal of sophisticated offensive conventional weapons of the Israeli regime continues to threaten the peace and security of the region and beyond. This regime is the largest cumulative recipient of US foreign assistance since World War II," he added.
Iranian authorities have expressed frustration over the international community's obsession with its nuclear program while ignoring Zionists' weapons.
The Zionist regime is not a signatory to the 1968 Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons but is a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
However, unlike Iran, it is not subjected to an IAEA inspection regime.
The fifth International Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Power in the 21st Century, organized in cooperation with the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency, will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in the US capital.
The planned topics to be addressed include clean energy, waste management technologies, and oversight of the future of nuclear power, according to the description.
