Iran Press/ West Asia: The illegal Israeli settlements are quickly increasing in numbers in areas around the Jordan Valley, warned the Palestinian presidency spokesperson in a statement cited by the Palestinian Wafa news agency.
Nabil Abu Rudeineh appealed to the US to urge Israel to counter the settlement expansions, which are “dragging the region into an uncontrollably grave situation”.
Since October 7, Israeli settlers, often shielded by Israeli forces, have intensified attacks on Palestinians and annexed more Palestinian land throughout the occupied West Bank.
This has led to an “unprecedented surge in settlement activities”, with nine new outposts set up in the West Bank, reports Israeli human rights group Peace Now.
