UN-appointed special rapporteur, Francesca Albanese accuses "Israel" of committing genocide in its war on Gaza after an Israeli strike targeted the Al-Tabieen school.

Iran Press/West Asia: A UN-appointed rights expert has accused "Israel" of committing genocide in the war on Gaza following an Israeli strike on a school on Saturday that massacred more than 150 unarmed Palestinians.

"The Israeli regime is genociding the Palestinians one neighborhood at a time, one hospital at a time, one school at a time, one refugee camp at a time, one safe zone at a time," Francesca Albanese, the United Nations special rapporteur on the rights situation in the Palestinian territories said on social media platform X.

Albanese emphasized that Israel was conducting airstrikes against Palestinians using weapons from the US and Europe, expressing hope for forgiveness from Palestinians due to the collective failure to protect them. In a report from March, she stated that there were valid reasons to believe that Israel had committed acts of genocide during its conflict in Gaza. Israel, which has consistently criticized Albanese and her role, condemned her report as a distorted portrayal of reality.

Israeli occupation forces have carried out multiple massacres in the Gaza Strip as part of an ongoing genocidal campaign that has persisted for 309 days. These relentless attacks have resulted in the martyrdom of dozens of Palestinians across various areas of the besieged enclave, with the school massacre being the latest.

According to sources who spoke with Al Jazeera, an Israeli airstrike has resulted in the deaths of more than 100 Palestinians and left dozens injured. The attack targeted displaced individuals as they were performing dawn prayers at a school in the Al-Daraj neighborhood, east of Gaza City. 219
