Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has announced the closure of the embassy in Dublin, citing "extreme anti-Israel policies" of the Irish government, according to Reuters.

The decision follows last week's support from Ireland for South Africa's legal motion accusing Israel of genocide at the International Court of Justice.

Saar also noted that the Israeli ambassador was recalled from Dublin in May after Ireland recognized the Palestinian state.

Anti-Zionist sentiments have increased worldwide after the massacre of the people of Gaza and also after the conviction of this regime in international criminal courts.

Israel accuses Ireland of being anti-Israel. Taoiseach (Irish prime minister) Simon Harris said the decision by Israel to close its Irish embassy is "deeply regrettable".

He also rejected that Ireland is anti-Israel.
