Representatives of defense and security agencies of Israel and Jordan held secret talks to coordinate their action in respect of the situation in Syria, the Axios web portal reported, citing its sources.

Iran Press/America: The parties discussed the situation in Syria and the interaction of Israel and Jordan with groups forming the caretaker government. The topic of the growing threat of weapons smuggling to the West Bank was discussed at the meeting, which may lead to aggravation of the situation in the Palestinian territory.

This news was reported by Barak Ravid, an Israeli journalist for Axios, who has close ties with Israeli intelligence agencies.

Israel and Jordan bordering on Syria say they want to work together on solving common security problems.

Jordan is the main mediator between Israel and Syrian groups, including the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
