Iran Press/ Iran news: During a visit to the northwestern borders of Iran in Ardabil province on Thursday evening, Major General Hossein Salami stated: "Sustainable security is the country's red line, and any insecurity and threat along the borders that hurt our dear nation is unacceptable."
Monitoring the latest developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, he issued the necessary orders to ensure more security in the border areas.
During the inspection, Major General Salami was briefed on the latest situation of the Iranian borderlines and the Azerbaijan Republic and Armenia and stated that Iran would never tolerate any insecurity that could threaten the security and peace of mind of its citizens in border areas.
Nagorno-Karabakh has been a bone of dispute between the Azerbaijan Republic and Armenia since 1988 and led to military conflict in 1992.
Two countries clashed on the border in early October, each blaming the other for the violence.
In 1994, following four years of military conflict, a ceasefire was finally established through the Minsk Group mediation, consisting of the US, Russia, and France.
