The commander of the Iraqi Air Force announced the interception and downing of a Turkish drone in the sky of Kirkuk province.

The commander of the Iraqi Air Force and several security officials of Kirkuk Province announced on Thursday that after a Turkish drone flew in the sky of Kirkuk Province, the Iraqi Air Defense intercepted and shot it down by firing five missiles.

The Iraqi soldier further stated that the missiles were fired from an area near the Shiman checkpoint.

Abdul Salam Farhan, the commander of the Iraqi army, also said that the Turkish drone crashed near one of the citizens' houses.
