The Iraqi President's office has condemned Turkey's continued military operations in northern Iraq.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Iraqi President's office issued a statement calling Turkey's continued military operations in northern Iraq a clear violation of the principle of good neighborliness and in clear violation of international protocols and charters.

The statement stressed the need to resolve border and security issues between Iraq and Turkey through cooperation and coordination between the two countries.

Turkey continued its attacks on northern Iraq in recent weeks, and on Thursday night, another military operation violated the Iraqi sovereignty again and attacked several villages in Sulaymaniyah Province, either killing or injuring a number of Iraqis.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently summoned Turkey's Ambassador to Baghdad Fatih Yildiz.

The Iraqi Parliament's Security and Defense Commission also announced last Wednesday that it had submitted a complaint to the United Nations Security Council in protest to Turkey's continued military strikes on Iraqi territory.

Turkey says it is targeting PKK fighters in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
