Iran Press/Iran news: A resident of Oroumieh, a city in northwestern Iran, interviewed by Iran Press said: "It is deplorable that in the past year America has imposed the toughest of sanctions on the Iranian nation and the government, whilst the other signatories to JCPOA have been largely silent."
He added: "This is unforgivable. In my opinion Iran should change its foreign policy and stance vis-a-vis JCPOA, and should resume all the nuclear activities that it was doing before it signed the nuclear deal."
Another interviewee said: "America's colonialist and exploitative tendencies were completely at odds with the spirit of JCPOA. The American couldn't bear to see Iran benefit from this multilateral agreement and that is why they withdrew from the agreement. Iran certainly has the ability to resume all of its previous nuclear activities and we shall ask no one's permission to do so."
The nuclear accord, officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was signed between Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council -- the US, France, Britain, Russia and China plus Germany -- on July 14, 2015.
On May 2018, the United States President Donald Trump withdrew his country from the deal and restored crippling economic sanctions on Iran, even as Tehran continued to abide by the accord, according to UN inspectors. 101/211
