Mohammad Hadi Saravi Shines in 97 kg Category

Mohammad Hadi Saravi, a world champion and Olympic bronze medalist in the 97 kg Greco-Roman category, has been a standout performer. Saravi advanced to the semi-finals with a series of dominant victories. He first triumphed over Joseph Rau from the United States with an impressive 10-1 score in the opening round. Continuing his excellent form, Saravi defeated Uzur Dzhuzupbekov of Kyrgyzstan with an 8-0 victory in the quarter-finals, securing his place in the semi-finals.

Amin Kaviani Nejad Falls Short in 77 kg Category

In the 77 kg category, Amin Kaviani Nejad faced a tough challenge. Despite a valiant effort, Kaviani Nejad was defeated 3-0 by world champion Malkhas Amoyan of Armenia in the quarter-finals, preventing him from advancing further in the competition.

In the 60 kg category, Mehdi Mohsennejad secured a decisive 10-1 victory over Cuba's Kevin Rodriguez in the repechage round. This win earns him a place in tonight's bronze medal bout, where he will face Sharshenbekov from Kyrgyzstan, a two-time World Champion.

Earlier in the tournament, Mohsennejad defeated Algeria’s Abdelkareem Fergat 9-0 in his opening match but was later defeated 9-0 by Japan's Kenichiro Fumita, a two-time World Champion and Olympic silver medalist, which pushed him into the repechage.

In the heavyweight category, Amin Mirzazadeh also advanced to the bronze medal match by defeating South Korea’s Lee with a commanding 9-0 score.
