Iran's student team, including 4 high school students, won one silver and three bronze medals in the International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO) contest held in the Philippines.

Iran PressAsia: Among the 54 students who participated in the scientific event from 14 countries, from Iran, Abolfazl Mahdiyi snatched the silver medal and Mohammad Sajjadian, Shayan Reza-Zadeh, and Ayda Bina gained the bronze medal. 

The newly established International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO) is an annual international science competition for secondary school students younger than 20 years old. 

The Philippines hosted the event under the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) technical cooperation project “Supporting Nuclear Science and Technology Education at the Secondary and Tertiary Level”. 

INSO's Steering Committee and International Juries have been established to work together towards piloting an International Nuclear Science Olympiad in 2024, followed annually.
