Iranian residents in US to vote in 27 polling stations: Envoy

New York (IP) – Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations, who also chairs the Iranian election executive board in the US, said on Wednesday that Iran's Presidential Election would be held in the United States as in a number of other countries.

Iran PressAmerica: Majid Takht-Ravanchi stated that 27 polling stations had been set up in the United States so that the Iranian residents could participate in the upcoming Presidential Election.

He noted that from 8 a.m. in 18 states plus Washington, D.C., the 13th Iranian Presidential Election would kick-off.

He said the situation varies from state to state, and in some states, such as California, there are more than one polling station.

Takht-Ravanchi also referred to the election situation for Iranians living in Canada, saying that the Canadian government did not agree to hold the election.

"Many Iranians live in Canada and are interested in taking part in the election; thus, we have established polling stations in Buffalo, which is close to the Canadian border," he announced.

The 13th Presidential Election in Iran will be held on June 18, 2021.
