Saei added that US has charged Iran to many baseless allegations in the past years and took actions against us accordingly and without any investigation.

She also said that putting Hashemi in jail without any charge is a gross violation of human rights and political hostage-taking which pursues specific aims.

Iranian MP also said: "After WW2, there was an order in international affairs in the world, but after Donald Trump took office, this order is replaced with some sort of disorder which is evident in international treaties; due to its contradictory behaviors, US is declining in the global arena".

She emphasizes that US officials are ruining their country's reputation with such actions and inconsistency in their words and deed is obvious more than ever.

On Jan 19, the Head of the IRIB World Service, Peyman Jebelli said Marzieh Hashemi is a symbol of the Islamic Revolution, and her detention in the US is a political move to pressure the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Peyman Jebelli said Marzieh Hashemi chose a different destiny, a different place to live, she changed her religion and accepted Islam, and became a Muslim, and changed her name with Islamic Revolution and also decided to wear Islamic dress.

On Jan 20, students, Journalists and Media activists including women gathered together outside the Swiss embassy (US interest section in Tehran) to condemn Press TV Anchor Marzieh Hashemi's illegal detention in the US.

Chanting 'Down with the USA' and carrying 'Free Marzieh Hashemi' placards, the protesters called for the immediate end of US unlawful detention of Press TV anchor.

The New Orleans-born journalist and television presenter, who had been traveling within the United States to visit her sick brother and other relatives, was detained at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, and later transferred by the FBI to a detention facility in Washington DC.

Relatives had been unable to contact her for over 48 hours, and only recently learned about her detention.

Reports suggest prison guards have attached chains to Marzieh Hashemi, and are treating her badly.

Prison guards took Hashemi's hijab off her head and took several photographs. Also, she has been given only short-sleeved T-Shirts to wear, so she has covered her head with another T-Shirt.

Most importantly Marzieh Hashemi is being treated as a criminal in the US prison system. 212/103
