Tehran (IP) - In a phone call with the Secretary General of the United Nations, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran called the US and British attacks on Yemen a strategic mistake that will lead to the escalation of tensions in the region.

Iran PressIran news: The US and Britain have attacked areas in Yemen several times in recent days.

These attacks were carried out in support of the Zionist regime and following several operations carried out by Yemen in recent weeks against ships related to Israeli companies or destined for the ports of this regime in response to the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Gaza Strip.

Since the second month of the Zionist regime's war against the Gaza Strip, the Yemeni Armed Forces tried to push the Zionist regime to stop its attacks on the Gaza Strip by launching missiles and drones toward the port of Eilat in the south of the occupied territories and also preventing the passage of cargo ships destined for the occupied territories and now the American coalition in the Red Sea is trying to prevent Yemenis from supporting the oppressed people of Palestine by putting pressure on them.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a telephone conversation with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday night, while appreciating his efforts and positions regarding the need to end the killing of the oppressed Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, he also emphasized the necessity of stopping the attacks of the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip and the attacks of the United States and the United Kingdom on Yemen.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed his concern about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to send humanitarian aid to the oppressed people of Palestine.

Referring to the recent developments in the Red Sea, Iran's foreign minister once again emphasized the principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran to maintain the security of shipping and navigation and announced that Yemen's goal of stopping ships bound for the occupied territories is to stop the crimes and genocide of the Zionist regime which is against the citizens of the Gaza strip.
