In celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and the Philippines, a special exhibition showcasing Iranian cultural and artistic works was held in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines.

Iran Press/Asia: According to the Public Relations Office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization of Iran, Eric Zerrudo, Executive Director of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines, expressed delight at the inauguration of the exhibition. He remarked, “Traditional Iranian artworks are a testament to the creativity of Iranians, vividly portraying how everyday objects can be transformed into masterpieces of art.”

Zerrudo emphasized that cultural and artistic exchanges provide a powerful means to deepen friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two nations.

Abdolmajid Abolghasemi, Iran's Cultural Attaché in the Philippines, also extended Christmas greetings to Christians and expressed hope for more collaborative cultural and artistic initiatives involving artists from both countries.

The exhibition, organized by the Cultural Attaché's Office of the Iranian Embassy in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines, featured Iranian handicrafts and traditional artworks. It ran for three days, attracting art enthusiasts in Manila.

Diplomatic ties between the two nations were first established on January 22, 1964. Iran was the first country in the Persian Gulf region to formalize diplomatic relations with the Philippines.
