Tehran (IP) - Faisal Mekdad Syria's Foreign Minister who had traveled to Iran to participate in the Tehran International Conference on Palestine held talks with Iran's top diplomat Hossein Amir-Abdollahian before leaving the Iranian capital.

Iran PressIran news: In the meeting, Amirabdollahian praised Syria's stance on the current developments in Gaza and Palestine, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic stand on the same page more than ever before in the region and share a common view regarding the necessity of an immediate end to the Israeli regime's war crimes and genocide in Palestine.

He expressed pleasure with the trend of strengthening security and stability in Syria and underlined the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for restoring the sovereignty of the Syrian government over all the territories of the country.

Also, the Syrian foreign minister thanked Iran's initiative to hold an international conference in Tehran on Palestine.

Mekdad said the views of the Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi expressed during his address to the conference are the same as Syria's stances and approved by Damascus.

Mekdad added that the victory of the Palestinian people will be the victory of the Arab-Muslim ummah.
